Abstract

This article follows on from a series of articles done by Mary Nash, looking at the historical accounts of social workers who have contributed to the development of social work in Aotearoa New Zealand. Barbara wishes to acknowledge Mary, who has given permission for her ‘Their Stories, our History’ format to be used here and for her ongoing commitment to documenting and telling the stories of the history of social work in this country. Barbara also wishes to thank the Manchesters and all those who have contributed to the development of this article.
